Cuming Holdings offers competitively priced Residential, Retail and Commercial space in Elgin, Illinois. We are committed to quality and personal service. We work with residents and businesses to help them as much as possible and try to make the entire community near our properties better off. We largely work with historic buildings and currently own the most historic home in town-the old Gifford House- and strive to maintain quality and modern life all in one. We actually live right here in the heart of Elgin unlike the absentee landlords, so you can tell that we care, we put our name on the company after all.
We are very attentive and will respond to any requests quickly. Our office is located at our properties in easy walking distance of most of our properties and we strive to keep as much local as possible.
Though incorporated in early 2015, Cuming Holdings has been deeply involved in the Elgin community since 2010, and will continue to be involved. We already have a very strong reputation and work well with our tenants. We make the experience of having your home or business with us as pleasant as possible. We may not be the cheapest, but we are very fairly priced for what you get: a no nonsense landlord who cares about your home or business and is willing and able to help out; a landlord who actually does maintenance and doesn't make you wait weeks for a response or a repair; a landlord who wants it done right the first time so that you don't have the same issue over and over when it could have been fixed; a landlord who is looking at the long term and not to make a quick buck; a landlord who invests in improving their properties and their city; a landlord who will actually work with you so long as you talk with us.
We are one of the few pet friendly landlords in Elgin and work closely with Home Sweet Home Pet Rescue, Andersen Animal Shelter and other pet rescue organizations.
We recently won a 2018 Chicago Area Painted Lady Award. We regularly receive commendations for the work we have done to improve Elgin and make life better for its residents and our tenants and ourselves too.
We won a 2019 Mayor's Award for preservation for both our work at 225-229 E Chicago Street and our work at 77 S Riverside and 76-80 S Grove. We have done extensive work on these buildings and others and are dedicated to improving Elgin and our holdings at every turn.
At present, we have 73 units: 2 coffee shops, 13 retail locations, 7 office suites, our office, 16 individual office units, a clever storage building, a parking lot, six studio apartments, seven one bedroom apartments, ten two bedroom apartments, four three bedroom apartments, one four bedroom apartment, a six bedroom house and a massive loft apartment. One building is underoung build out now to add in 3 restaurants, 1 retail space, 2 2 bedroom apartments and 1 loft apartment.
